🍁🍁 Nara奈良 | Tanzan Shrine 談山神社
I visited on November 24, 2025, and the autumn illumination was absolutely breathtaking.
Right after sunset, the entire shrine grounds were wrapped in a soft crimson glow.
Around 3,000 maple trees light up all at once, creating a magical and dreamlike atmosphere.
Daytime foliage is beautiful, but the night view at Tanzan Shrine feels like stepping into another world.
From my favorite spot—where I always end up stopping—the illuminated maple leaves and the historic shrine buildings created a scene so enchanting that I couldn’t help but stay there for a while ♥（^～）
They also offer original Tanzan Shrine lanterns for visitors to borrow, which makes the night stroll even more atmospheric.
You can enjoy food stalls and warm noodles, too, which is perfect on a chilly night.
It gets pretty cold after sunset, so I recommend dressing warmly.
The temperature drops quickly, so a heat pack definitely helps◎
