On February 26, 2026, I visited Osaka Castle Plum Grove!
The outer plums have started blooming, and the entire grove looks beautiful✨
There are still some buds, so it seems you can enjoy the blossoms for another week or so☺️

New! Osaka Castle Plum Grove Tea Area🍵
This year, the newly established “Osaka Castle Plum Grove Tea Area” allows you to enjoy tea from Gion Tsujiri and food trucks✨
The event runs until March 15 at 16:00.

Featured Plum Varieties This Year
Kanou Gyokuchou Daikaku (華農玉蝶台閣)
A rare plum with flowers within flowers, but usually hard to see.
I didn’t catch this special bloom this time—all were regular blossoms.

Popular Variety: “Omoinomama” (思いのまま)
Pink and white mixed petals can be seen, but only two flowers were visible this day.

Must-See Variety: “Musashino” (武蔵野)
One of the largest plum varieties, about 5cm in diameter.
I saw it for the first time, and its shape resembled a carnation, very impressive.

Scenic Viewpoint
From the top of Gangi-zaka, you can get a panoramic view of the entire plum grove.
Overall it’s beautiful, and with some buds still unopened, the grove should still be enjoyable in the first week of March.

Also, the Fujita-teiato Park plums (藤田邸跡公園) were nearly in full bloom, but a few buds remain—still worth a visit.
